More classic U.K. 82 Punk Rock for you in the shape of Wigan's The Insane. Released a clutch of great singles including 'Last Day', 'El Salvador' & this gem Why die? Featured Bambi out of Discharge on drums. A couple of members also played for Flux for a while.

Another great post! This is Punk just the way I like it!
Definitely The Insane had "it" whatever it is that makes a great band. Their cover of Chinese Rocks is fantastic as well. When I was a senior in high school my copy of "El Salvador" was a prized possession. I heard they had a live LP on dodgy label Rock O Rama but it was never released. Anyone know anything about this?

Anonymous. Thanks for comments. Not sure if The Insane ever had an lp lined up for release on rockorama but that label did release the first Skeptix LP & both bands were quite friendly so it's quite possible. The Skeptix new nothing about how dodgy the label were I hasten to add.

Yeah, ROR actually released (and ripped off) quite a few bands that were either non-political or anarchist or even lefty. It was only later they started signing boneheads and went Nazi.

good old rock a rama.... they also had another label called 'First Floor' that released stuff by indie & Goth bands like, Release The Bats, Saigon and They Must Be Russians. Before the German old bill shut em down for releasing stuff by Mr. Stuart & fiends.
