New Model - Chilean Warning

No it's not New Model Army. Not the New Model Army we all know & love (well I know & love anyway). Both bands did share the same name for a while though I seem to remember before this lesser known outfit dropped the Army part of the name. Only ever heard this single by New Model, which Peel played quite a lot when it came out. Anyone know if they released anything else? Plying the same sort of vein as they're better known namesakes. Great obscurity this from 1983.

YES, what a great single, glad to have this one back, add a dash of Zounds and a dose of TV Smith, to the NMA comparison and I reckon that's got 'em nailed.

Yeah deffinite bit of TV Smith to his voice isn't there. Maybe early Psychedlic Furs as well. Great single this. Never seen, or heard anything else by them though.

Hi Punk Belongs To The Punks!
Nice that this has made it's way back to Chile. It is indeed about Pinochet. The rest of the (right-minded)world were very concerned about your countrymen during this era. Shocking stuff.
Cheers,
J

Released a further 12" called 'Sacrifice The Queen' - I've got it somewhere, but can't put my hand on it at the moment.

Thanks for the interest. As one of the main members I can tell you that we were never New Model with an army, and we were severely knocked back by EMI and NMA. We rose again as LEGACY OF LIES and released SacrificeTheQueen and YouAndWho'sArmy and IronsInTheFire. We were further knocked back when health problems removed our singer but continued, moving to New York in '86.
Could have done with you 20 years ago!
