The Purple Things - Deep In The Mind Of

The Purple Things rose from the ashes of the Vibes. Basically if you like Vibes' one and only LP you'll like the Purple Things. The main difference between the two bands being the use of an E-Bass instead of the Double-Bass, the sound leaning more toward Garage/Punk.
Their first mini-Lp "Deep In The Mind Of" was issued in 1985 on Media Burn.

I'd not listened to this or the Orson Family in an age til you posted these two. Still sound great. I used to live in a shared house with a Billy guy called Mike. So obviously his nickname was Mikeabilly. Mikeabilly was a frustrated DJ and of an evening would spin these two on the turntable along with some great comps like the 'Garage Goodies' stuff. Good memories. Thanks for this.

Zeroid,

you're right.... in fact 2 versions of "I Hear Noises" exist.... and if you check this blog regularly you will most probably hear them both.

Thanks for the reply and I'm looking forward to what may appear;) - I think ex-members of The Vibes also went on to play in a band called Terminal Cheesecake, playing psych/noise sort of stuff, but I've not heard anything to recommend them (or not)..

One if my all time fave records, esp. their version of 'Wild Man'. But I have a problem. The download link is invalid. Could you upload it again? That'd be great! Cheers from Finland.
